Ventilation
A general rule for figuring required
fan
capacity is four cubic metres of air
movement per kilogram of body weight per hour (one
cubic foot per minute per pound of body weight).
The birds optimum
environmental temperature and humidity should be in the range of 21 - 27°C
(70 - 80°F) and 40 - 60% relative humidity.
Ventilation
Ventilation should be used as a major management tool to
provide the optimum micro-environment per bird.
Controlled
ventilation can do a great deal to dilute pathogenic organisms as well as
provide an optimum micro-environment when ventilation equipment is
designed and operated to give correct air speed and direction.
